Film Festival Round-Up
This round-up comes care of the fine Film Threat mailing

MicroCineFest '99, the underground film festival in
Baltimore, will turn audiences on to ambitious, low budget,
underground films. MicroCineFest's mission is to showcase
worthwhile underground filmmaking from all over the
world. They're looking for projects with a substream
psychotronic bent that display creativity, originality,
entertainment and a wise use of funds big ambition of little
budget.
Deadlines for The Method Fest independent film festival
slated for August 20-26 in Pasadena are fast approaching.
Deadlines: June 16 (early entries) and July 23 (late entries).
Named for the 'Stanislavski Method' which brought truth
and realism to the world of acting, The Method Fest will
be a film festival that pays homage to the actor. The
festival's motto is "Celebrating Breakout Performances
in Independent Film." The competitive festival will run
from August 20 through 26 at the historical State Theatre,
770 E. Colorado Blvd., in Pasadena.
Hollywood Shorts, a monthly short film series that
features new shorts & introduces their directors to the
Hollywood film community. Ten animated shorts will be
selected for screening (via Beta-SP large-screen projection)
at the September 12th event, which will be held in Los
Angeles at The Gig. Short must be no longer than 30
minutes and can be any form of animation - from traditional
to complete computer/cgi production.
